AS part of my quest, if somethings printed or reported reference this study, eventually I'll find it...
One such is shown which hopefully will generate some interest and hopefully even comments and reports of further material. Or any RNAS related material with these censors or others?

Does anyone have material from any of these offices? or material with these Censor numbers? Articles and reports such as this enable me to prove that these numbers were issued and used, also give am indication where used. Without a trip to Hendon difficult to prove such reports of course, but carry very strong weight, even without an illustration.

By the kindness of the Royal Air Force Museum, Hendon, I was recently permitted to examine an interesting correspondence from the Royal Naval Air Service of the First World War, comprising some 225 letters and a few associated items spanning the service career of Rupert C. Darnton. Rupert Darnton was born in July 1895, and his family home was at Newsells Park, Royston, Herts. He was gazetted Flight Sub-Lieutenant R.N.A.S. with seniority from 17 September 1915, and Flight Lieutenant from 30 June 1917. The award of his D.F.C. was published on 1 January 1919, shortly before his demobilisation. It is hoped that more official information about his career may become available shortly, when the R.N.A.S. papers in the Public Record Office are opened. Darnton wrote frequently to his mother, sometimes two days out of three, and less often (weekly) to his father. Thus the letters that have survived provide an excellent picture of the R.N.A.S. and Independent Air Force posts from France (see Table).
